Graviron Aerospace Joins AWS Activate to Accelerate Development of Orbit Keeper
May 2026
Graviron Aerospace has joined AWS Activate, Amazon Web Services’ program supporting startups as they build and scale technology products.
The milestone supports Graviron’s development of Orbit Keeper, a family of standardized orbital platforms designed to provide hosted payload and orbital computing services in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
Developing spacecraft requires more than physical hardware. Engineering teams also rely on software development environments, simulation tools, data processing, and cloud infrastructure to design systems, test software, and prepare for future missions.
Through AWS Activate, eligible startups can access cloud credits and other technical and business resources to support product development. For Graviron, cloud infrastructure can support the software and engineering workflows required as the Orbit Keeper program progresses toward its first commercial mission.
Supporting the Development of Orbit Keeper
Graviron is building a fleet of standardized Orbit Keeper satellites rather than developing a bespoke spacecraft for every customer. The initial service focus is hosted payloads and orbital computing, with the first commercial mission targeted for Q2 2028.
Cloud-based development environments can support activities such as software development, simulation, engineering collaboration, data analysis, and testing. These activities are relevant to the development of complex aerospace systems, where software and hardware must be designed and validated together.
As Orbit Keeper develops, Graviron intends to use appropriate cloud-based tools and workflows to support engineering activities and prepare the software systems associated with its orbital-computing service.
Cloud Computing on Earth. Orbital Computing in Space.
Cloud infrastructure and orbital computing serve different roles in Graviron’s development strategy.
Cloud services can support the engineering work required to design, simulate, and prepare spacecraft systems on Earth. Orbital computing, by contrast, is a capability Graviron is developing to make computing resources available in space through Orbit Keeper.
In the longer term, space-based computing could support workloads that benefit from operating in orbit and may offer additional options for meeting computational demand. Graviron’s immediate priority is developing the spacecraft and computing capabilities required to establish its orbital-computing service.
The two areas are complementary, but they are not the same: using cloud infrastructure to develop a spacecraft does not mean the spacecraft’s orbital-computing service is hosted on AWS or that AWS is providing its onboard computing hardware.
What AWS Activate Means for Graviron
AWS Activate is designed to help eligible startups build and scale their products through resources that may include cloud credits, technical guidance, training, and startup support. Specific benefits depend on eligibility and the package received.
For Graviron, participation provides an opportunity to draw on AWS’s startup ecosystem as the company advances Orbit Keeper’s development. It supports the broader software and engineering work taking place on the ground as Graviron prepares for its first commercial orbital mission.
Joining AWS Activate does not itself represent a spacecraft-development partnership or a commitment by AWS to provide technology for Orbit Keeper.
Preparing for the First Commercial Mission
Graviron’s first Orbit Keeper 01 commercial mission is targeted for Q2 2028 and is intended to carry customer payloads alongside Graviron’s onboard orbital-computing capability.
Beginning in late 2028, the company plans to focus on fleet development, informed by experience gained from operating in orbit and the engineering lessons learned from the first mission.
As the program progresses, Graviron will share updates on spacecraft development, software and computing capabilities, mission milestones, customer engagements, and fleet expansion through its newsroom.
