Graviron Aerospace Advances Orbit Keeper to Technology Readiness Level 4

Graviron Aerospace today announced that Orbit Keeper, the company’s flagship program focused on reusable orbital drones for space debris removal and satellite servicing, has successfully achieved Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4.

The milestone confirms that key technologies behind Orbit Keeper have been integrated and validated together in a laboratory environment, representing another significant step toward developing an operational orbital servicing platform.

Following the successful completion of TRL 3 earlier this year, Graviron’s engineering efforts have focused on moving beyond proof of concept and validating how critical hardware and software components interact as a complete system.

This phase included laboratory integration of core technologies, systems validation, software testing, mission simulations, autonomous control development, and subsystem verification required for the Orbit Keeper platform.

Technology Readiness Levels, originally developed by NASA, provide a globally recognized framework for measuring the maturity of emerging technologies. TRL 4 represents the successful validation of integrated components within a laboratory environment before moving into more representative testing conditions.

With TRL 4 completed, Graviron Aerospace will begin preparations for TRL 5, where Orbit Keeper technologies will be validated in environments that more closely represent real mission conditions.

The company expects future development to focus on higher-fidelity testing, subsystem refinement, autonomous mission software, guidance and navigation capabilities, robotic operations, and continued maturation of the Orbit Keeper platform.
